HSRC Strategy Update and Civil Society Participation

Following the launch of the updated ACT-A strategy, civil society and community representatives to the Health Systems and Response Connector (HSRC) (previously the Health Systems Connector (HSC)) wrote a letter to the lead agencies highlighting critical additions to the HSRC strategy. A copy of the letter can be found here

Community and Civil Society Health Systems Connector Representatives Selected

During February and March, the Platform of Community and Civil Society Representatives in ACT-A co-leads (WACI Health, StopAIDS and GFAN) led an open and transparent process to identify and select permanent community and civil society representatives to the Health Systems Connector of the ACT-A.

The Health System Connector (HSC) – also referred to as the 4th “Pillar” – is convened by the World Bank, the World Health Organization and the Global Fund. Its purpose is to work across all the pillars (diagnostics, therapeutics and vaccines) with a strong focus on country level implementation of efforts related to the roll-out of new COVID-19 technologies developed or approved, primarily in low and middle income countries where equitable access is less assured.

A high number of applications were received for this pool of candidates and the following Community and Civil Society Representatives were selected by a Committee composed of other, current C/CSO Representatives in other pillars.
Representatives will be getting up to speed in the coming weeks and fully assuming work in the connector by early May. Reminder, you can sign up here to join the conversation with C/CSO Representatives in ACT-A.
