The Facilitation Council provides high-level political leadership and enabling advice on global advocacy and resource mobilisation to facilitate the work of the ACT Accelerator. It is the most visible and political of the ACT-A structures and has two representatives from the platform, Dr Fifa Rehman representing civil society and Peter Oweti representing communities. They also participate in the “ACT-A Principals” discussions.
The Platform co-leads facilitated their selection through an open and transparent application process. They work to a detailed terms of Reference and are remunerated for this role.
ACT-A Facilitation Council Working Groups
There are currently 2 working groups under the Facilitation council and each group reports to the Facilitation Council:
- Financial and Resource Mobilisation Working Group, the purpose of which is to support finance & resource mobilisation and support outreach for fair share financing. The Platform has two Representatives on this Working Group, Revanta Dharmarajah representing civil society and Dr Daina Nsubuga interim representative for communities.
- Tracking and Accelerating Progress Working Group, the purpose of which is to track progress & commitments towards global COVID-19 targets & mobilize political support. The Platform is currently running a process of nomination for three representatives on this Working groups. Arush Lal serves as interim representative for both communities and Civil Society.
