We are pleased to share Jackline Njeri Kiarie (Amref Health Africa — Global South) and Elisha Dunn-Georgiou (Global Health Council — Global North) have been selected as interim civil society representatives for the new Financial Intermediary Fund (FIF) for Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response (PPR) Governing Board. Nitish Debnath (One Health Bangladesh) and Olya Golichenko (Frontline AIDS — U.K.) will act as alternates to the corresponding seats.

The call for nomination was facilitated by Pandemic Action Network, the Center for Indonesia’s Strategic Development Initiatives (CISDI), the Eastern Africa National Networks of AIDS Service Organisations (EANNASO), and the Platform.

A Selection Committee of representatives from CISDI, EANNASO, Pandemic Action Network, the Platform for ACT-A Civil Society & Community Representatives, Management Sciences for Health, Conservation International/Preventing Pandemics at the Source Coalition, and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (South Asia Regional Office) identified the representatives who will attend the first meeting of the Fund’s Governing Board taking place 8-9 September 2022. The representatives will serve for an interim period of approximately six months. A longer civil society led process will be organised to identify full-term CSO representatives.

Further information will be shared soon on upcoming opportunities to engage in the ongoing process to inform the design and governance of the PPR FIF and the work of the interim CSO representatives in its Governing Board. More information about the process can be found here.
