The Facilitation Council provides high-level political leadership and enabling advice on global advocacy and resource mobilisation to facilitate the work of the ACT Accelerator. It is the most visible and political of the ACT-A structures and has two representatives from the platform, Dr Fifa Rehman representing civil society and Peter Oweti representing communities. They also participate in the “ACT-A Principals” discussions.
The Platform co-leads facilitated their selection through an open and transparent application process. They work to a detailed terms of Reference and are remunerated for this role.
ACT-A Facilitation Council Working Groups
There are currently 2 working groups under the Facilitation council and each group reports to the Facilitation Council:
- Financial and Resource Mobilisation Working Group, the purpose of which is to support finance & resource mobilisation and support outreach for fair share financing. Revanta Dharmarajah represents NGOs and Dr Daina Nsubuga represents Communities.
- Tracking and Accelerating Progress Working Group, the purpose of which is to track progress & commitments towards global COVID-19 targets & mobilize political support. The Platform is currently running a process of nomination for three representatives on this Working groups. Marie-Claire Wangari represents Communities and Melissa Cederqvist Njihia represents NGOs.
